How to Re-open Incorrectly signed Retainers

If a retainer was signed by the wrong person (for example, the spouse signed instead of the main contact/debtor) or the signer’s name wasn’t updated before signing, you can quickly reopen and resend the retainer for the correct signature.

Step‑by‑step: Reopen and resend the retainer

  1. Go to the specific workflow
    Go to the client’s workflow and find the incorrect retainer agreement task

  2. Open the incorrectly signed retainer agreement
    At the top of the retainer, verify the Signer shown (e.g., it may display the spouse as the signer instead of the main contact). To make a correction, navigate to the top right corner, click on the 'Make a correction" button. This starts a corrected retainer flow.

  3. Enter information in the modal
    Re‑enter Flat Fee and Installment amount. Click on "Next" to proceed and confirm.

  4. New Retainer Agreement is generated
    Once you confirm, a new retainer agreement is generated for the client to sign. The client is automatically notified that they have an open retainer to sign. You can also reassign the task to the right person in the main workflow page.
